Non-Skiing Activities at NH Ski Areas Not everyone who visits New Hampshire ski resorts enjoys the rush of zipping down the hill on skis or a snowboard. For these people a variety of other activities are offered. Attitash Mountain Resort, Bartlett The Nor'Easter Mountain Coaster carries riders 1,420 feet up Attitash Mountain on twin, stainless steel rails, providing spectacular views of the White Mountain scenery before descending on a thrilling 2,880 foot ride down through the forested mountain terrain, dropping 316 vertical feet through a series of banked curves, dips and straight-aways at rider-controlled speeds of up to 25 miles per hour.
Bretton Woods, Bretton Woods Canopy Tours are available which descend 1,000 ft via hiking trails, suspension bridges and nine zip-lines. The Williwaw Racing Zip is the final portion of the canopy tours and is located at the base of the mountain, also available for those who don't want to do the entire canopy tour. Dog Sled Rides at Bretton Woods allows you to cruise through the woods behind a team of Alaskan Husky sled dogs. Rides are generally available Thursday-Sunday. Sleigh Rides are available at the Mount Washington Hotel. The Slopeside Climbing Wall is located in the base lodge and suits all abilities of climbers.
Cranmore Mountain Resort, North Conway The Mountain Coaster consists of thousands of feet of twisting, turning fun down the mountain at rider-controlled speeds through banked turns. The new Giant Swing allows up to four people to swing and arc higher and higher above the ground. Regardless of the weather guests can enjoy the Indoor Adventure Zone. Attractions include the Bungy Trampoline where guests strap in and bounce and flip, Spider Mountain is a 24 foot tall cylinder kids can climb and descend on an inflatable slide, and kids can bounce and play in the Bouncy House.
Great Glen Trails, Pinkham Notch The all-wheel-drive SnowCoach is equipped with a 4-track system that allows guests to ascend 4.5 miles up the Mt. Washington Auto Road during the winter months.
Gunstock Mountain Resort, Gilford Gunsotck is home to the longest zip line in the Continental United States. It’s part of their Zip Tour Canopy Tour, a 2 1/2 hour adventure. Guests control their own speed on several zip lines and can even stop to enjoy the spectacular views.
King Pine at Purity Spring Resort, East Madison King Pine offers Ice Skating on an illuminated, zamboni-groomed Tohko Dome ice rink. Ice skates are available to rent at the King Pine Rental Shop. Sleigh Rides are offered in conjunction with neighboring Burnt Meadow Stables. Rides last approximately a half hour and explore fields and trails through the woods.
Loon Mountain, Lincoln Loon has a Zip-Line Ride that runs over 700 ft. Guests can cross the Pemigewasset River and then hop on the other zip-line for a return trip.
Waterville Valley, Waterville Valley Guests can visit Town Square for a Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride. The sleigh is pulled by a pair of Percheron draft horses for 45 minutes, travelling along the foothills of the valley. There is Indoor Ice Skating located in Waterville Valley Town Square.
Wildcat Mountain, Pinkham Notch Guests can enjoy views of Mt. Washington on the ZipRider zip line cable ride. Guests soar for a half mile over tree tops, ski trails and a river on a zip-line cable at 45 miles per hour.
